Large Empire solid mahogany and mahogany veneer sofa, late 18th century or circa 1800.

Typical work of so-called back from Egypt style that prefigures Empire style and became very fashionable at the end of 18th century. Lion feet shaped feet, refined antique style sculpted and patinated women busts on the sides.

Elegant proportions, refined sculptures, veneered on the 4 faces (which allows placing it in the middle of the living room) : beautiful Parisian production attributed to Jean Baptiste Demay, although not signed.

In excellent condition. Varnish has been restored in a traditional way.
