Empire mahogany armchair. Our armchair is stamped Jean Pierre Louis (active from 1787, supplier to Empire palaces such as Fontainebleau, Tuileries or Saint Cloud) and Imperial St Cloud Palace inventory numbers are printed behind the crosstie. Empire production circa 1810.
Restored with a beautiful antique strawberry-coloured Empire silk (never used before, with small flies marks) enhanced with a gold thread braid, a varnish made in a traditional way. Superb collector in excellent condition.
