Large Empire engraving set into a gold leaf gilt wood frame, early 19th century circa 1820.
It pictures a scene of Empire period - the 3rd Hussards regiment and Colonel Moncey after Horace Vernet (1789-1863). This is one of Vernet's most famous compositions.
Beautiful representation, finely executed. Original gold leaf gilt frame.
Our piece is in very good condition. The frame was cleaned by our gilder. Some stains on the engraving.
