Vermeil (sterling silver covered with fine gold) oil and vinegar set, Old Man hallmark 1st standard (used between 1819 and 1838 for .950 purity silver), and French silversmith Jean-Francois Veyrat's stamp (silversmith active in Paris between 1832 and 1840).
Our set is a very fine example of luxury silverware in the early 19th century : silver-gilt large pieces are very rare and a sign of a prestigious provenance : a crown of Marquis is engraved on the terrace.
The whole set is in excellent condition, no distorsion, no chip on the bottles. Original vermeil gilt, well preserved, slightly attenuated on the terrace (more often polished in the past).
