Late 18th century / early 19th century French school, Marine in the style of Lacroix de Marseille : twilight on Saint Jean Fort next to the Old Port. Oil on canvas set into an Empire gilt wood frame.

Beautiful painting, nice light, well animated with several picturesque characters and boats. The buildings of Fort Saint Jean are easy to identify.

Very good condition, painting and frames have been cleaned.
