Empire mahogany chair, very well known model of Jacob Desmalter (1803 1813) although not stamped.

Our seats have marks underneath proving a Royal Provenance : King Louis Philippe in his castle of Bizy.

That type of chair is typical of Jacob's work under the Empire and for the imperial residences and later royal under the restoration.

The seat was totaly restored with a new varnish. It is in perfect condition.
