Large Directoire mahogany sofa. France, late 18th century circa 1790s. Our seat bears the stamp G. IACOB used by Georges Jacob between 1765 and 1796.

Georges Jacob is one of the greatest French seat makers of 18th century, he had a huge success during his lifetime ; he was a supplier of the French Crown.

In very good condition, antique varnish cleaned and polished by our cabinetmaker. Newly covered with a grey velvet.
