Porcelain milk jug from Louis Philippe Princes table set (service des Princes in French) at his royal residence Chateau de Bizy. 19th century production, Imperial Sevres Manufacture in 1847, signed under the base :
- Sevres Manufacture mark SV47
- the red stamp "Sevres 1847" that confirms that the cup was gilt at Sevres in 1847
- Chateau de Bizy red mark (chateau de Bizy used to be a private property of King Louis Philippe)
- hollow marks (that usually confirms Sevres manufacturing and artists, unfortunately difficult to show on the pictures).
Beautiful fine gold gilt decoration including grapevine frieze and French King Louis Philippe monogram on the side (LP, a royal crown on top), a crown of laurels and oak leaves around.
It is in outstanding condition. No accident, no scratch, no chip, as good as new ; gilt is superb, including on the handle. Our piece is 170 years old and yet stunning.
Height : 12.3cm
