Large French antique chest of drawers / commode, mahogany veneered, Empire period. France early 19th century circa 1815. It opens with 4 drawers. It is a high quality piece with a beautiful Cuban flamed mahogany, round pilasters, a thick grey marble top, finely chiseled ormolu decoration (matt and shiny finish).
Our chest of drawers is interesting for its beautiful Empire gilt bronze trim attributed to Ravrio. A Ravrio clock featuring the same Indian mask as those in the center of the handles is also for sale on our website.
Our chest of drawers was completely restored; the varnish was redone as new by our cabinetmaker. The piece is in excellent condition. 2 Indian masks redone afterwards (identical, but a little less fine carving).
