18th century marquetry buffet opening with 2 doors and a large drawer. Very fine marquetry work on a green background with musical instruments and antique vases. Yellow brocatelle marble on top. Louis XV / Louis XVI Transition period, circa 1770.
Although not stamped, this beautiful piece of furniture is attributable to Charles Topino who was known for the quality of his marquetry and the care taken in the construction of his furniture down to the finest details including the hidden parts which are usually neglected (i.e. our buffet is veneered with oak inside with a very refined construction that can be seen on the top view). The bottoms of the center parts inlaid with trophies and vases were probably originally blue and have turned green over time. Finally, original bronzes are very refined. Last but not least the Jura yellow brocatelle marble is a very rare luxury vein.
In our piece of furniture is in excellent condition, completely restored by our cabinetmaker with a superb varnish with the stamp redone to new.
