Empire period travel set.

Thuja veneer box (late Empire circa 1815 when mahogany was rare) with many secret compartments.

Most accessories are made of mother of pearl, and sterling silver and crystal. Some accessories are missing or completed, but the whole remains quite complete.

The box carries a stamp from the store "à l'Y Grec", established at 106 rue Saint Honoré in Paris, and mentionned in the 1811 Commerce in Paris Almanac.

Beautiful and rare witness of the way of life in the high society during the French Empire.

In excellent condition.
