Solid oak box covered with veal leather, Louis XV daughters' diamant-shaped (for women) coat of arms gilt in the middle, fleurs-de-lis on all faces. Louis XV period, 18th century.

This rare box is a witness of what used to follow French Princesses while they where travelling. These type of travel case were designed to put fashion items, hats, shawls, perruques (wigs)...
Very rare and beautiful historical objet, in good condition given age and type. Leather is a little worn out in the angles ; gilt is very well preserved. We can have the inside covered with silk on request.
