Antique French sterling silver drageoir, candy box or sugar bowl.

Original, beautiful pattern with a squirrel-shaped handle. High quality level : the bowl is made of sterling silver too (while most drageoirs or confituriers have a crystal bowl).

French Restoration period, circa 1820-1830. French hallmark Old Man 1st standard, equivalent to Minerva (.950 purity silver), and guaranty hallmark in use at that period (1819 - 1838).
