17th century Flemish school, follower of Van Oost : Holy Family - oil on canvas set into a Louis XVI style gold leaf gilt wood frame.

Our painting uses a classical composition with Virgin Mary, Jesus Child on her knees holding a rose, his cousin Saint John the Baptist kneeling and a few young shepherds, a winged angel overlooking the scene, Saint Joseph reading in the shaded background.

The scene is lively, colourful, the clothes details and faces expressions are very finely executed.

Large painting in very condition. Antique restaurations.
