18th century French school, follower of Hubert Robert. Our large oil on canvas shows a group of shepherds in an idealized Italian landscape with antique ruins (truncated columns and a temple dedicated to Apollo). Our painting is signed (not identified at the moment) and dated 1775.
Large size & very decorative with light colors and finely executed details. Presented in a large 1840s frame. The frame gilt with gold leaf.
