Late 18th century / early 19th century Flemish or French school, oil on canvas in a Louis XVI wood frame gilt with gold leaf.
Our painting is a funny trompe l'oeil portrait, depicting a tobacco dealer coming out of a barrel hole to offer snuff. Original composition, beautiful colored costume, laughing face finely painted : the whole piece is fresh and charming.
Excellent condition, painting and gold leaf gilt frame cleaned by our restorer.
