Portrait of an officer of the French Imperial Army, oil on canvas, Restoration period (early 19th century).

Dressed in a black suit with the legion of honor, our proud blue-eyed man is identified in a cartouche as being Pierre-François Voysin de Clémencières (1775-1848), (retired) Colonel of the Horse Guard Grenadiers, one of the Elite corps of the Imperial Army of Napoleon.

Beautiful portrait very well executed, presented in an interesting gold leaf gilt frame topped by a cartouche.

Our painting is in excellent condition: the frame was cleaned by our gilder.

Canvas : 63cm x 52cm
Frame : 102cm x 78cm
