18th century French School, large portrait of an officer wearing a gilt cuirass, a powdered wig on the head. The red decoration shows that he is also knight of Saint Louis. Our oil on canvas is set into in its original 18th century carved and gilt wood frame, Louis XV period circa 1750.

The painting is in excellent condition, no repaints on the face. Superb carved and gilded wood frame (Louis XV period), gold leaf gilt cleaned by our gilder.
