Large portrait of an aristocrat, ovale oil on canvas set into its rich original wooden frame and gold leaf gilt stucco. Napoleon III period, mid-19th century circa 1860.
Our character is the Marquessa de Rocher de La Baume du Puy-Montbrun (Marguerite Victorine Claire de Brachet of Pérusse de Floressac born in 1842), who married Louis Joseph Gabriel de Rocher of La Baume du Puy-Montbrun in 1864.
In very good condition ; the painting is intact on its original canvas without accident. Original frame gilt with gold leaf, cleaned by our gilder.
