Early 19th century portrait of a French officer signed Dryander, dated 1802, set into a gold leaf gilt wood frame.

Johann Friedrich Dryander was a German painter. He was borne in Saint-Jean-les-Sarrebruck on April 26th. During French Revolution and Empire period, Saarland was linked to France : Dryander had the opportunity of painting a great number of French officers then.

In good condition, both painting and gilt wood frame cleaned.
