Antique engraving colorized with watercolour and gouache picturing the inside of an Empire dining room : a man taking his breakfast, the dog watching him, the servant putting the china away in the cupboard in the corner, and the wife in the room behind playing piano forte in the background. Early 19th century work after Martin Drolling set into a beautiful gold leaf gilt frame.
Interesting, detailed picture of the inside under Empire or French Restoration period with a neoclassical decoration (engravings, Medicis vases, wood-burner, clothes the characters are wearing...).
