Empire mahogany armchair, early 19th century circa 1815.
Sober and elegant pattern with 4 saber-shaped feet. Beautiful red-rose Empire style silk manufactured by Tassinari and Chatel). Mahogany varnished as new in a traditional fashion.
Our piece is the high quality version of this quite usual pattern. Generous proportions, palmettes treated in relief - not in deep - show that this one is the high-end finish : the cabinetmaker did not economize mahogany to build his seat.
Ideal for a desk seat, or living room or bedroom use.
It is in excellent condition ; mahogany varnish made as new, new silk.
