French Regency office armchair, rare so-called cabinet armchair, molded and sculpted walnut, caned seat and back. 18th century circa 1730-40, probably made in Lyon.

Authentical 18th century cabinet chairs are a rare item to find ; they are a new seat during the Louis XV period . Four feet arranged in diamond, central foot is located on the front of the belt - the user can place his legs on either side of this seat for more confort.

Beautiful model with elegant proportions, our seat is a rare piece. Usually most cabinet chairs available on the market are 19th century copies. Our seat is an original 18th century production.

It is in excellent condition (old restoration on the feet ends). The caning is healthy and solid. Cushion made as new and covered a luxurious Louis XV style red silk damask (editor draw Tassinari & Chatel 100% silk).

Height (backrest) : 90cm
Seat height : 53cm
Width: 66cm
Depth : 56cm
