Porcelain biscuit statue (non-enamelled porcelain intended to result in the same visual effect as marble) : Virgin Mary presenting Jesus Child to the world and bringing the evil snake down.
This biscuit was made after Boizot (1743 - 1809), famous late 18th century French sculptor, who succeeded Falconet at the head of Sevres Manufacture. 19th century production, signed of "Boizot" and a signature in the taste of Sevres. Our statue is a great size and very decorative piece.
Beautiful neoclassical face, ideal for a Louis XVI or Empire decoration.
It is in excellent condition ; only a small lack on the snake tongue.
Height : 35cm
Diameter : 18cm
