Spectacular patinated bronze and ormolu clock, Empire style, Restoration period, early 19th century circa 1815-20.
In a niche, a fountain with two dolphins and a gilt bronze satyr mask coughing up crystal water in a silvered bronze basin.
Beautiful mercury gilt, this rare mechanical clock has a second independent mechanism that simulates flowing water: a twisted crystal cylinder coming out from the mouth turns on itself to "fill" a silvered bronze basin simulating water.
Rare model by its originality and fine quality. Ideal to complete an Empire decoration.
Our piece is in excellent condition. Both mechanisms were revised by our watchmaker. The clock and the fountain mechanism work perfectly.
