Louis XVI writing desk for a lady or a child, 18th century production. Beautiful top-of-the range exotic wood veneered (so-called satine in French), finely chiseled ormolu decoration, grey marble on top, original gilt leather on the writing area.

Early Louis XVI period work circa 1770 - 1780 stamped Jean Baptiste Tuart.

Beautiful antique piece of furniture in excellent condition, fully restored. A few veneer areas have been repaired. The varnish has been made in a traditional way. Bronzes are not original but they are antique and fit perfectly the writing desk in terms of decoration and luxury level.
