Pair of mahogany consoles, ormolu decoration (mercury gilt bronze), mercury mirrors and speckled granite marbles engraved with inventory numbers (N°24 and N°31). Parisian work, Consulate period (early 19th century circa 1800 - 1805).
A perfect example of the so-called Egyptian style - fashion under Consulate and the beginning of Empire period : this beautiful model is adorned with antique busts of woman in tunic.
Fine quality production, elegant proportions, bronzes beautifully crafted, finely chiseled and mercury gilt.
Such a real pair of consoles is particularly rare to find.
Our two consoles are in perfect condition with a new varnish. There is no accident.
