Marquetry chest of drawers / commode, Louis XV - Louis XVI Transition period - 18th century circa 1775 - 1780. Thick grey marble on top, finely chiseled ormolu ornamentation.

Stamp of Pierre Antoine Veaux, parisian cabinet maker, master in 1766.

4 drawers, a little higher than usual, our commode is also larger than usual (145cm) : it is a so-called pantalonniere in French (meaning a commode dedicated to pairs of trousers and other large clothes).

In perfect condition, completely restored as new with a new varnish made in a traditional way.
