Beautiful, wide rosewood marquetry chest of drawers / commode. It opens with 5 drawers. Beautiful chiseled and gilt bronze (ormolu) garniture, gray marble on top.

Early Louis XVI period work, circa 1780.

J. Birckle and JME stamped. Jacques Birckle (1734-1803), was one of the great cabinetmakers of 18th century.

In excellent condition, original marble, original gilt well preserved, clogs reported but fitting the model. No crack, no accident. Varnish has been renewed in a traditional way.
