Large Louis XV marquetry commode - rosewood, violet wood, green boxtree, wallnut. Mid 18th century production made in Paris in the 1750's ; it is stamped of Nicolas Petit.
Very strongly curved, it opens with 3 drawers. Beautiful colorful marquetry decorated with a flowers bouquet in a central Rococo style cartouche. Rich chiseled bronzes gilt with fine gold (ormolu). Our chest of drawers is topped by a thick red marble.
Beautiful item in very good condition ; it just has been varnished. Old restorations (locks on the upper drawers removed, restorations on the bottom part of the drawers, top quality bronzes brought later, marble intersected at the back).
