Elegant Empire mahogany and mahogany veneer barber / washstand for a man.

Beautiful decoration - finely chiseled and mercury gilt bronzes (ormolu), flaming torch pattern. This torch pattern that we usually find on wall lights is generally attributed to great Parisian bronze maker Thomire. Parisian work, Empire period, early 19th century circa 1810.

The barber is a vanity unit intended to place the pitcher and the porcelain basin for the toilet of the man who is standing, then to be stored in the niche. This one is a beautiful model with refined finishes.

Very good condition, varnish cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker.
