Pair of Empire ormolu candlesticks, early 19th century circa 1805.
Beautiful model by Claude Galle, one of the most talented bronze maker of his time. That pattern was delivered for Imperial Palace of Fontainebleau ; it is listed in Jean-Pierre Samoyault's book.
In quite good condition. Original mercury gilt a little attenuated but still there. A star is missing. Some traces of antique restoration.
