Pair of chiseled bronze candlesticks - mercury gilt, Empire period(early 19th century before 1807).
Our pair of candlesticks is a model created by Ravrio or Claude Galle for the Castle of Fontainebleau. It would be the model listed in 1807 in the bedroom of the Marechale Duroc, then in 1810 in the the apartment of the great connetable in the Castle of Fontainebleau.
High quality model : they are made of 9 independent parts gilt with fine gold. Beautiful decoration, soberly and finely chiseled.
They are in very good condition ; no lack, no deformation, gilt is still present with some slight wear. Slot on a small piece on one of the candleholders.
