Antique French sterling silver coffee pot, Empire period, early 19th century production.
Beautiful, finely chiseled model, decorated with palm leaves, dog head-shaped spout, pine-shaped handle, acanthus, resting on 3 lion feet.
Coat of arms of de Rancourt and du Verdier French aristocrat families engraved, with a crown of count on top and two eagles holding the coat of arms. The family's motto is also engraved in a ribbon underneath : Virtus et Ensis which is latin for "Bravery and Sword".
Hallmarks : Association des Orfèvres (used after French Revolution), 1st coq / cock / rooster 1st title (.950 purity silver) and associated guarantee stamps used between 1798 and 1809, silversmith hallmark (to be identified).
In excellent condition, outstanding given its age (over 200 years).
