Stunning French sterling silver teapot, made by Cardeilhac, one of the most famous and talented silversmiths that France ever knew, together with Puiforcat, Odiot... The pattern is a classic at Christofle manufacture : Malmaison is a beautiful, fine Empire design created in the late 1960's ; today Malmaison is still commercialized, mainly in the silverplate range ; the silver plated teapot would cost 930€ on Christofle website. Christofle stopped manufacturing most of its sterling silver tableware but this sterling silver teapot used to cost over 4500 euros. There is no monogram on our teapot : your can engrave yours, or your coat of arms. French hallmark Minerva 1st standard is stamped a few times on the item. Also there are three silversmith stamps : Cardeilhac stamp (legion of Honor with a royal crown on top and a crescent below), the name "Cardeilhac" and Christofle sterling silver stamp (OC with a bee and three stars on top). In mint condition. No bump, no hollow, no scratch. Silver is still very well polished. Very rare to find in such a perfect condition.
