Rare vermeil flatware for 12 people composed of 12 dessert spoons, 12 dessert forks and 12 teaspoons.
A real must have in all great houses in early 19th century ; this pattern is usually sterling silver, while our set is the sophisticated vermeil version (sterling silver covered with fine gold).
Each piece is engraved with a count's crown.
Most of the pieces bear the Old Man hallmark 1st standard from Paris used between 1819 and 1838, the guarantee hallmark and silversmith Veyrat stamp. Only 8 spoons have French hallmark Minerva 1st standard. The flatware was probably manufactured and sold between 1837 and 1838.
Our set is a witness of the refinement of the French aristocratic lifestyle in early 19th century.
It is in very good condition, vermeil is fresh. Our spoons are 200 years old. They are presented in a leather box, also stamped with a crown of count on the handle.
Dessert cutlery : about 18cm
