Rare set of 14 Empire style melon knives, mother of pearl handles, vermeil caps and collars (sterling silver covered with fine gold) and gilt steel blades (sharper than vermeil blades).

Melon knives are specific pieces of cutlery allowing both cut and prick with two prongs at the end of the blades.

There is no monogram on the handles : you can engrave yours, or your coat of arms.

Beautiful, elegant set in very good condition.
